One design, calculated completely. Vision compensated point by point from the center of the lens to its edge, with the surface tuned for the distances you actually work at. Carried on the premium coatings — or on CLAD alone — and the only place 1.74 is made.
What the periphery is worth
Zenn is the rung where the lens is calculated for the frame as well as for the prescription, and where the periphery is designed rather than inherited. Whether that is worth paying for depends less on how strong your prescription is than on your frame and your habits: a wide or wrapped frame, and the habit of moving your eyes rather than your head, are where the difference shows.
For a strong prescription the choice is made for you. The thinnest materials are made here and in Zenn AI only, so past a certain power this is where the range begins rather than where it becomes a luxury.
Its limit
The gain is in the periphery. If your frame is small and you are comfortable in your current progressive, you may not notice what you have paid for. And Zenn is one design for every wearer — if your working day is unusually near-dominated or unusually demanding, the design choice lives in Zenn AI, not here.

In depth
Edge-to-Edge Compensation is the difference that matters. On a conventional design the optics are optimized for the line of sight straight ahead, and the periphery is whatever the geometry produces. Edge-to-Edge Compensation traces the path of light through the lens at many points across the surface and corrects each one — so the prescription you receive at forty degrees off-center is as close to correct as the prescription at the center. What you notice is that turning your eyes rather than your head still gives a sharp image.
Smart Add tunes the surface for the distance a screen is actually held at, which sits between conventional reading and intermediate distance and is badly served by a design built around printed text.
Index reach 1.74 is made only in Zenn and Zenn AI; 1.67 is reached by Dynamix too. A prescription beyond roughly 8.00 diopters is a premium lens by necessity rather than by upsell.
