An exploded view of a lens coating: the top coat beading water, the gold anti-reflective layer, the hard coat, and the clear lens, floating apart in the dark.

Coatings

What each coating does

Choose your vision first. Then your protection.

  1. Easy-clean top coat
  2. Anti-reflective
  3. Hard coat
  4. The lens

The rule

One foundation, then the split.

On a made-to-order lens the coating is yours to choose. A stock lens ships coated.

How the coatings sit across the rangeRead less

On a made-to-order lens the coating is yours to choose. CLAD, the hard coat, is available on its own on Dynamix and Zenn. NOX, the anti-reflective, runs the whole made-to-order range — Dynamix, Zenn and Zenn AI. Above it the ladder splits by tier: BLUESAFE on Dynamix; CLEAR ONE, GLIT and DRIVE CLEAR on Zenn and Zenn AI. A stock lens is different: Versatile comes with BLUESAFE when clear, or DRIVE CLEAR as Versatile Photo-Z.

A woman indoors in clear eyeglasses — the photochromic lenses fully transparent, her eyes bright and visible.

BLUESAFE · Digital

Tuned for screens.

Selective blue-light filtration, on the everyday ladder.

Available on Versatile · Dynamix

Everything NOX does, with a filter tuned to the blue end of the screen spectrum. For anyone whose working day is measured in hours in front of a display — it takes the harsh edge off bright screens and LED light. It is a comfort and evening-use choice, not a cure for eye strain.

What the research shows

A woman in her late twenties in tortoiseshell glasses works at a laptop in a bright office; a faint blue-violet reflection sits on her lenses — the blue-light filter.

DRIVE CLEAR · Driving

Built for the road after dark.

Headlights stay points. The road stays legible.

Available on Versatile · Zenn · Zenn AI

Built for the road after dark. It carries the full blue-light filter and adds the strongest glare control in the range, so oncoming headlights and wet asphalt scatter less across the lens and the road stays legible. It is also the coating carried on both Photo-Z and Versatile Photo-Z.

A wearer driving at night, oncoming headlights held as soft points through the lens — glare tamed.WithoutWith DRIVE CLEARIllustration — glare drawn in for comparison, not a measurement.

CLEAR ONE · Low reflection

As transparent as glass gets.

The lowest reflection in the range — for the wearer who bought the best design.

Available on Zenn · Zenn AI

The most transparent surface CLIFF makes. Reflection is pushed to its lowest, blue filtering is included and glare is softened — for a wearer who has bought the best design available and doesn't want the surface to become the limit.

A man in his late fifties with a short gray beard and thin gunmetal glasses looks toward the camera in soft daylight; his eyes read clearly through the lenses, which carry no reflection.

The lens surface

What the lens surface does

NOX · Green anti-reflective

Reflections drop away.

What's left is a faint green — the mark of the coating, not the room.

Available on Dynamix · Zenn · Zenn AI

The workhorse, and the right answer for most people who ask for "something good". Reflections drop away, the lens stops catching light in photographs and under office fluorescents, and a smoother top layer means dust and fingerprints wipe off instead of smearing. Its residual reflection reads green.

A man in his late thirties with a shaved head, a short beard and thin black glasses sits beside a bright window; his lenses show no reflection of it, his eyes clear through the glass — anti-reflective.

GLIT · Gold signature

The coating people notice.

Low reflection, carried on a gold tone — CLIFF's signature.

Available on Zenn · Zenn AI

CLIFF's signature. The same low-reflection performance, blue filtering, and glare control, carried on a gold residual tone — so the lens reads warm rather than green in the frame. For the wearer who treats eyewear as something worn rather than merely used. It's the coating people notice.

A wearer in gold-wire glasses, a warm gold sheen along the lenses — the gold-signature coating.

CLAD · Hard coating

The hard coat.

Every CLIFF lens starts here. A surface built to take the year.

Available on Dynamix · Zenn

The clear choice. A hardened surface and full UV protection to 400 nm, with nothing added between your eye and the lens — for a tough, straightforward lens with no reflection treatment on top of it. It's the foundation layer of every CLIFF lens — offered on its own in Dynamix.

A young man of about nineteen with short curls and bold black glasses holds a basketball on an outdoor court in daylight, his lenses clean and unmarked — the hard coat.
